MY STORYI am a qualified Cordons Bleu chef from South Africa, passionate about culinary journeys. I made limoncello once a year, as Christmas gifts for friends and clients. Then in 2023, people wanted to pay me money for more and so it began. Besides Liamcello, I also teach cooking, entertain private dinner and big events. |

THE PROCESSThe journey begins under the South African sun, and speaks volumes about the deep relationship between South Africa and The Netherlands. The Dutch import a large portion of citrus fruit from South Africa and with these lemons I make a sweet and sour lemoncello. First, I peel the zest, the yellow outer layer of the lemon, and let it sit on 96% proof alcohol for two weeks, long enough for the essential oils in the skin to infuse. After two weeks, I then combine the now zesty yellow alcohol with a very precise formula of water and sugar. This specific ratio of ingredients results in a smooth, juicy sour and tart lemon flavour and aroma. |
